From the very first assembly in 2012, Marvel has captivated audiences with its realistic superheroes (yes, an oxymoron, but true nonetheless) and unprecedented cinematography. Recently, it pulled on heartstrings in Avengers: Infinity War.

The film picks up about 20 minutes after the end of Thor: Ragnarok, which takes place 2 years after Avengers: Age of Ultron. While the movie seems caught in a whirlwind of storylines, all of them converge in the gut-wrenching climax to make perfect sense. With a total of 39 different Marvel heroes and villains, tensions are high and quips on point as new and old characters interact for the very first time in a groundbreaking way. Viewers must be prepared, mentally and physically, for this movie. While comic fans know exactly what’ll occur, many fans may find a need for a tissue or five. With well-timed jokes, amazing acting, an all-star cast, and cool CGI, this movie takes root in a viewer’s heart and remains there.

Avengers: Infinity War has the highest grossing weekend ever in the US, leading with $258.2 million (Source). Receiving a 9 out of 10 stars on IMDb and a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, so far has a cumulative worldwide gross of $857.5 million (as of May 2, 2018). Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, this film is rated PG-13 and runs an unbelievable 156 minutes. Recommended screenings include 3D and IMAX.

A user on IMDb accurately describes the feeling after watching it: “This movie will blow your mind and break your heart – and make you desperate to go back for more.”

Part 2 is scheduled for release on May 3, 2019.
